Randy Churchill, PhD

Randy discovered his calling for heavy timber construction in the mid-90's, after several degrees in Mechanical Engineering (US). His training, skills and passion for craft make him a respected heavy timber designer, tradesman, problem-solver, and project manager. After running shops in Vermont for several years, Randy migrated to Vancouver Island in 2007 to work among some of the best wood-growing geography on the planet.
Randy's top priority is outstanding client care. He works closely with his clients "start-to-finish" to ensure the best possible project results (quality, cost & schedule). The choice of running a small service oriented company is intentional to ensure quality control over your timber project every step of the way. Randy is one of those guys "that gets stuff done - and really well". Call him and describe what you'd like to build for your family.
As a Lifetime Member of the Timber Framers Guild (TFG) I am dedicated to both the historical context of this craft and the advancement of skills using modern fasteners, materials, and methods when appropriate. Call me to find out more about this special group of craft-oriented, thoughtful people dedicated to education and spreading the spirit of working with big wood.

Jet - Crew Morale

Jet is always watching, and knows how to distract the crew if we are going to do something stupid. He enforces a morning and afternoon stretch break and is ever vigilant to warmly greet visitors (with a wag and smile, and inappropriate sniff). No one has ever caught him sleeping as he is ever watchful over his flock of people. In balance with Randy's detail-oriented technical training, Jet is a renowned expert in people care and the psychology of happiness - a great bonus for anyone visiting the shop to discuss a project.
